When I am down I get really down. It feels like nothing I will do from this point on won't matter because I failed at something. Feeling like a complete failure and spending half the day thinking about it only adds to the miserable state I tend to get into when I am down. I was at wok Monday when my boss said that she wanted to go out to dinner on Wednesday. I really didn't want to go because my mid-term exams happen to fall on Wednesday and since I was spending half the day at the doctors office the day before I had very limited time to study. I spend a quite a lot of time (out of the limited time) studying and I was disappointed to end up with a 60% and since the exam counted towards 35% of the final grade there's no secret why I was feeling down...
However, the dinner arrangements was still on and I couldn't getaway with out hurting someones feelings so I decided to go anyway. I would be lying if I said I didn't have a good time with everyone. We all had a few drinks and the dinner was great and after a few laughs and few chocolate strawberries I was beginning to feel a lot better. By the time I got home I was feeling pretty good about not doing as well as I should have on the Exam...
Along with most people I am guilty of not taking the time to enjoy the little pleasures in life. Sharing a meal with your friends and family can help you feel better about yourself because around them you don't have to worry about being judged, you don't have to worry about not making the best grades, not wearing the best clothes or being someone that you are not. Friends and family reminds you that when you are down they will be there for you, they will help you get back up and when you get back up they will be there to celebrate....
Can you achieve all that in one meal? .... absolutely you can
Cheers!
