Good Bye to a Decade

I hope the New Year will be prosperous and a happy one to each and everyone of you. I spent a quite day at home. Finishing up the laundry and doing some mundane chores. Last night I came across this interesting quote: " Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us" ~Hal Borland. What an accurate quote...

2009 has been an exciting year. The highlights are:

  1. In March I had a major shoulder surgery, the first ever surgery!!! I spent 3 months out of work and recovering.

  2. In May I applied for my American citizenship, and in September I took the oath and become an American citizen.

  3. In August I became a senior at Florida Gulf Coast University. Yay!!!

Yeah I know my life looks boring, but I like a boring life. I was just feeling a little sentimental perhaps because a decade has gone by. This is the first decade that I can recall all the years in relation to a significant event that has taken place in my life. So much has changed in this past decade. I am learning everyday what it is like to be an independent woman. World is a scary place, but I am learning to navigate through it all. I know the coming New Year will be a challenging one. There will be some surprises, some ups and more downs. I will make it through.

Love always

Day is not Over Yet

December 30th is possibly the shortest day of the year for me. I caught up on the much needed sleep. Slept through 10 hours with minor interuptions Got up around 4pm and did nothing productive. Weima treated me out to Breakfast/Lunch/Snack, not sure which one it should be since we didn't get to the restaurant until 5pm ish.

I haven't had the chance to work on the Choli project yet. It is one of those things now occupying space on my cozy pink lazy boy now. There are a few others projects on the lazy boy also. I keep looking at them and thinking oh I really should get going on these projects.

Listening to C-SPAN's interview with the supreme court justices and the awesome work they do. I know there has been so much slack lately about the political influences on the justices view etc... but no matter what you can't deny the power of the supreme court and the work they do to keep our constitution breathing and alive.

Perhaps Legal Studies may not be the wrong field for me after all...

New Year, New Project

Here I was sitting on the bed, putting lotion on and getting ready to turn in when I remembered that I was already going back on my resolution to update the blog more frequently.

So I spent the day with Jackie in Ft. Myers. The weather was beautiful, and the company was even better. We did a lot of window shopping and enjoyed a quite lunch and decided to end the day with a movie ("It's Complicated"), and a trip to Joann's Fabric Store. While at Joann's I decided to go hunt for the Choli I have been wanting to make. I had no idea how to locate a pattern that only existed in my head in the 30 something drawers. I guess I was meant to work on this Choli because lo and behold I found a pattern in the very first drawer I opened!!! Now what are the chances of that?

By the time I purchased all the items I needed I was well over my budget! but I am going to stick to what I started. I really need to do this to show myself that I can start and finish with out expecting a grade for it. So my friends expect me to be doing a little complaining in the coming months. For a girl who has no training in sewing I might have bitten off more than what I can chew...

Off to bed now.
Adieu

I'm Back

I have been ignoring the blog for a little too long. I got a sudden urge to get back on here after watching Julie and Julia. The movie was entertaining and inspiring in many ways. I recommend all of you check it out. Since we are approaching a new year I plan to keep updating my blog as much as possible. Ihave a few good ideas on my mind...more on that later. So check back with me soon!
